In addition to daily worship services, choral/organ classes and other special sessions, the Institute features several special events annually:

  • an opening night concert of choral or chamber music to welcome students to Trafalgar Castle,

  • a Thursday evening recital by the year’s guest Organ Instructor and visit to the carillon of St. George’s Anglican Church in Oshawa, and

  • in even-numbered years, the final round of the Osborne Organ Competition.

Beginning in 2004, two other special events will be added to the annual schedule: a faculty-presented Festival Service exploring the new and transcendent in worship and the challenges of offering it in today’s churches, and an impromptu Friday lunchtime performance by all Institute students and faculty of a major sacred choral work they have studied, rehearsed and perhaps drawn new ideas and perspectives from under the leadership of our visiting faculty through the Institute week.

And speaking of special events: THEN there’s Fun Night...
