Historic Churches and Organs of Stratford
Stratford is blessed with many fine organs in its beautiful and historic downtown churches including many dating from the late 19th and early 20th century, and with many congregations loving the organ’s music. In addition to the Academy Organ at Knox Presbyterian Church each student of the Organ Academy at Stratford Summer Music is assigned an organ in downtown Stratford for his or her practice during Academy week. On the Sunday closing Academy week, students serve as guest organist at morning worship in their assigned church, and then join together at Knox to give the Academy’s closing public concert.
Stratford Summer Music is deeply grateful to the congregations that open their doors to the students of the Organ Academy.
